Lium was founded in 2021 by Guilain and Thomas, two engineers passionate about technology. Together, they created Horus, an autonomous tethered balloon capable of continuously monitoring SEVESO-classified sensitive industrial sites.

A Fundraising Round That Propels Lium Into the Future
Thanks to this investment, Lium will optimize its R&D and intensify field testing. This fundraising marks a key milestone for the company and strengthens its mission: to secure and decarbonize sensitive industrial sites through innovative and autonomous technology.
In 2024, Lium raised €800,000 to accelerate the development and commercialization of Horus, its autonomous tethered balloon dedicated to monitoring sensitive industrial sites. This fundraising round was supported by Ava Capital, Valeureux, Aerospace Angels, as well as descendants of the Montgolfier brothers, and was backed by BPI, BNP, and CIC.
